ATLANTA— The United Nations’ Open Government Data Forum has invited Atlanta- based Diligent eSecurity International’s CEO, Karl Chambers, to be one of the presenting speakers at the first regional conference on open data and privacy protection, April 28 -30, 2014 to be held in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. Chambers’ presentation will help government officials from the Gulf Cooperative Council (GCC) countries identify successful practices for implementing secure IT Cloud solutions.
“This is a great honor for Diligent eSecurity,” says Chambers. “Our company is sought after for our leadership in this field and we are very proud to lead the way in assisting forward-thinking governments in identifying solutions to deliver better services to their citizens at a lower cost,” Chambers says.
“As governments adjust to the new opportunities of the Cloud to enable their citizens to access high-quality digital government information and services anywhere, anytime, on any device, it is vital that this innovation happens in a way that ensures both the protection of data as well as citizens’ personal identifiable information.” Chambers says.
Richard Kerby, United Nations Inter-Regional Adviser, E-Government Department of Economic and Social Affairs explained the selection of Chambers and Diligent eSecurity for the forum. “What interested me in Karl Chambers was his real-world experience leading cyber security initiatives at some of the US’ largest organizations and government institutions. Karl brings a unique view that couples a deep understanding of the challenges governments face, with the practical issues that any organization faces,” Kerby says.
The forum is hosted by the Emirates Identity Authority, the United Nations Public Administration Network and the United Nations Department of Economic and Social Affairs (UNDESA). High profile UN and government officials, experts in smart government data systems, along with executives from some of the biggest global and regional technology companies specializing in managing, analyzing and storing data, including Microsoft, SAS, CEPAS and Infosys are among those participating in the first-of-its-kind forum.
